Established in 2007, Wonga is probably one of the most talked about payday lenders in the UK. They have a significant online presence and a refreshing website. Their business model is also different from the rest of the lenders wherein they charge 1% fee a day. This depending on your needs may be expensive or cheap. They are totally online and guarantee sending payment to your bank account within 15 minutes, any day, any time 24/7!! Click here to read what wonga's customers have to say about Wonga.

Sudden Decline!!
Have used Wonga a couple of times when needed, never defaulted and always paid back on time, very happy with their service and ridiculous high interest rate (shop the market people and you can save yourself a bundle in interest charges). Went to use them again the other day and was declined! No explanation, no change to my circumstances, this is very poor service, tried quick quid and money in the account quickly and efficiently and far cheaper then Wonga, your loss Wonga.
Wonga are ruining my sisters
Good Company
Yes they are good i can say only 2 payday loan companyes are good PaydayExpress and Wonga .. But i still think real working people would not get loan from payday loan companyes, i don't think any one work hard and pay them back. lol
wonga loans are great but you
wonga loans are great but you must realise it is short term only do not use them to pay off debt from the bank or to replace other loan types. if you didn't get enough money due to being off on the sick it can be ideal, but only if your certain you will enough to repay it back on the next payday and afford that months bills as well. think if you get them over and over again, in thoery they aren't lending you there money but its the money you gave them in interest that keeps them going. don't be silly ask a friend to borrow and pay them back, even a £10 pint is cheaper than the £100 interest.
wonga
I took out a £100 loan with Wonga today... The money was in my a/c in less than 5 minutes! The form was hassle-free, the repayment was very reasonable for this type of loan and has got me out of an unpleasant situation. To ensure success with this kind of service, you ABSOLUTELY MUST adhere to the agreement or will find yourself in very bad financial circumstances. As I know for a fact that there will be sufficient funds in my bank on the agreed date, I expect no problems. For anyone contemplating this short-term loan system, I would not hesitate to recommend Wonga. But make damned sure you can repay when you say you can!! If you even THINK there may be a problem, then don't even consider it. I don't work for Wonga - I don't work at all, as I'm disabled. I will write another review on the due payment date - 24th may - and hope to be able to report a satisfactory outcome. Watch this space....

they screw you over dont use them!
I have taken 2 wonga loans out in the past and have had a little bit of trouble with them but nothing big, i recently took another loan of £31 on the 6/5/11 and yet still not received any money! i have phoned them 3 times and spent £20 plus on the calls and sent them loads of emails, however they just don't seem to care and tell me they have sent it out and they will look into it, i have been to my bank 3 times and they have not received any money of wonga, and to make matters worse they are still adding interest on the money i HAVE NOT GOT OF THEM! they do not phone me back the only thing i get off them is a pree written email of them trying to justify themselves, i am thinking of taking legal action against them .
Wonga - Fine So Far
I have borrowed from Wonga about 4 times in the last year, and twice I have extended by another month. The last loan I was able to pay off a fortnight early and it saved me a bit on interest. They always take the money on the day they say they will and only take what is agreed. I was declined after my first loan was paid back, but accepted a few days later. It's a shame some people have had such bad times with them, but I honestly have had no problems at all, and no, I DON'T work for Wonga. I work for the NHS.
Please read before you
Please read before you apply!!!
A friend of mine has been using payday loans for some time now, it started with a loan of around £100, he doesn't earn a lot and thought he was desperate for the money, he made the repayment as agreed at the end of the month. His low wage and and high outgoings meant that he again had to borrow just to survive the month. This continued and is still the case today, every month he pays back he again needs to borrow, due to the high levels of interest the loan amounts had to increase to what is now £600 per month! About 70% of his total monthly income. The interest on this is high and he now finds himself in an impossible cycle that he cannot recover from.
Companies like this offer a good service to people who really are desperate for cash bf please consider your level of desperation before you get involved. There are much easier and safer ways to get through bad periods, pay day is at most only 31 days away, are you sure you can't wait? Is there another bill like tax, water or electric that you could put off? Any of these bills if paid late will not incur further charges, it's far from ideal but it's a better solution. Missed payment on gas electric and water can be spread over a longer period making it easier to resolve.
I appreciate that some people have no choice and for those please only borrow what you know you urgently need and insure that paying it back will not just put you in the same position next month!
Remember Wonga doesn't make the problems go away, they just put them off till next month whilst financing Wonga's owners mansion and Ferrari!
This really is the poor making the rich richer!
Hope this helps
GR8!!!
I THINK WONGA HAS A GREAT SERVICE, FAST PAYOUTS, GOOD INCREASE WHEN WANTING TO BORROW AGAIN.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE TO ANYONE. HAPPY TO CONTINUE USING WONGA :)

hi there, I've recently got a loan from wonga, I haven't came to my paydate, when it comes i hope they do not scam me, I've had no problems as of yet, they seem very professional so far and i got my money off them within 10mins
YOU ARE STUPID!!!
Obviously, when you borrow money, be it from a bank or payday loan company, or even a friend. When you agree a date to pay it back you pay it back. It's that simple. If these services were used as they are supposed to be you wouldn't have any extra charges. Wonga offer a service which is for SHORT TERM emergency cash. You select your agreed payment day, they don't select it for you. So, in order to avoid further charges, ensure that you have cash in your account on YOUR selected repayment date. Or just handle your own money a bit better. Instead of blaming other companies please remember that you are supposed to be an adult and in charge of your own finances, it's bad management on your part.
What happens if your loan
What happens if your loan doesn't come in on time? And your delayed repayment for a few weeks and have to repay several hundred?
3 THINGS YOU MUST DO ABOUT WONGA
I have had the same problems just yesterday; having spoken to my bank manager he has refunded all transactions. Legally they can only attempt to take the agreed amount 3 times on the day you've agreed. If they begin to try different amounts and different days it is unauthorised and illegal. My bank manager advised me to report it to the police as theft, which it technically is, the police were very helpful and understood my predicament, and they told me that the characteristics of these transactions are similar to financial fraudsters. They attempt a small amount to see if there are funds, then keep upping the amount until it declines, they then go back down lower amounts to clean your account right out. Anyone experiencing this should do 3 things,
1) email Wonga collections immediately, advise them that no further transactions may be taken as they are unauthorised, also advise that you wish for your card details to be removed from their records as there is misuse of sensitive data and finally warn them any further attempts to take money without prior authorisation will be reported to the police as theft.
2) Ask your bank to reverse these transactions immediately under the debit card indemnity scheme as you didn’t authorise them. Also ask them to re-issue a new card as you feel the card has been compromised. It is important to stress to the bank that you are a customer of Wonga and explain the circumstances. If you pretend you are know nothing about it the bank will argue how all your card details were obtained. Stress that you did not authorise the transactions and it is a civil debt which must be recovered legally in the correct manner.
3) Finally, do not hesitate to report this to the police and the office of fair trading. As for the police it is a matter of theft only you know the perpetrator. The office of fair trading deem these practices unfair, any financial provider must follow strict debt collection rules and guidelines, be sympathetic to customers in adverse situations and try to arrange a manageable repayment plan.
Good luck everyone
I did all 3 of these things today and got my money back, a crime reference number, and also brought these practices to the attention of the office of fair trading.
Alleged Loans that Have Not been taken out!
Anybody using Pay Day loan companies are stupid. For those who have had Credit Card Debits taken by the likes of 'Wonga.com', and they have NO loans from that company. then how on earth did 'Wonga.com' get a hold of their card details?
The easiest way to stop this is to phone your Credit Card issuer and tell them the card has been compromised. Get the card and account cancelled, and a new card and account number issued. This may take time, but it's better to do this than nothing. Also, write to your Credit card issuer explaining that a 'Pay Day Loan' company has been committing fraud, and also report this matter to your local Police.
Used them once, extended the
Used them once, extended the loan twice, then left more than enough in my bank account to pay in full on the final due date.
On the due date, WONGA attempted to take the full amount (over £300. once interest & extension fees were included) more than twice, and then tried smaller amounts that they branded as 'late fees' (on the date due) constantly for a morning.
The full amount was paid initially, they attempted again. When the account rejected the subsequent full amounts, they moved onto frequent £5 & £10 withdrawals, some of which were successful, and others thankfully not.
I spoke to them and informed them that I was in contact with an adviser at my bank, knew exactly what they were up to & would be informing the police of the theft.
A WONGA adviser mutteredly stated that they would keep the amount of the loan & one late fee (!) and return to my account all other money they had managed to take from me. There were between 30 & 40 transactions either successful or attempted in the same morning.
They did return most of the excess. * *After over a week. ** Not including the bank fee's I couldn't avoid for the unarranged overdraft they caused. **Nor including the £10.+ I was billed for calls to their helplines.
They have since relentlessly sent emails & texts despite me repeatedly asking them to leave me alone. The website still reckons my loan is in progress & I cannot sever links to them by deleting my wonga account, nor by removing my bank & contact details.
.
I understand that they operate as a 'business', but there can be no justification for illegally taking money from an account that owes them nothing, other than theft.
Like all loan companies if
Like all loan companies if you pay before or on the due date they're fine, but one mistake and I know, companies rob you blind. So far I have found Wonga to be okay. I even got a discount using a promo code wonga.com/?p=pds86 which was very useful. Only use loan companies if you definitely have the money to pay it back otherwise they have your bank details.
Ok My case is this one, I
OK.. My case is this one, I borrow from wonga £200 as I needed to pay an urgent bill. I fail to pay on the agreement date ( absolutely my fault, but it happens.. a few bad things on this time so I just can't afford it), now I did register my bank account that has £100 overdrawn.
Wonga is charging to my bank account £5 every single day even tough the £100 limit overdrawn has been used, therefore when my wages go trough to my bank it gets sucked up straight away. How is that possible if my overdrawn limit is £100, how can they do that? I want to pay back but all money gets sucked up everyday. What can I do about it? I don't want to cancel my bank account, I just don't understand how can they do this.
Any ideas plz, I'm desperate to stop this daily charges into my account so I can payback
Loan Scams
I urge anyone who has had money taken from their debit card or bank account in this way to make a complaint to the police (Economic Crime Unit). I did this last year, and one of the directors of the 'loan company' received 18 months' imprisonment. Don't mess about with letters, phone calls or complaints to this or that Ombudsman.
wonga
I too am having problems with Wonga, like everyone says first few times ok, then life happens and I couldn’t pay back on date, so informed them before hand to try to make an arrangement they said couldn’t do anything till the actual date so on the date rang them said someone would call back, no call back, they have tried to take heaps of money only getting 5 at a time 4 times to date they have been successful changed card details but now got thru again took another 5 but tried for 577, having to close the complete account, 200 up to approx 600 nasty emails and so on but they won’t make a proper arrangement, as anyone been successful in stopping these people via ombudsman.
Luke Kay you are so wrong
Wonga have seriously helped me get my financial life back on track. I had a number of problems with Lloyds TSB for going into an unauthorized overdraft and they ended up charging me far more than wonga for a short term loan. I know the apr seems high but that is nothing compared to what the major banks must be charging if you go overdrawn without authorisation.
At the end of the day you are complaining about a service your friend received when they failed to keep their side of the bargain and I say - serves them right! - Don't borrow if you are not 100% sure you can repay - lesson learnt hopefully.
Regards,
Alb
Wonga - Disgrace
I was once on hold with there collections team for over 1hr and 20 minutes. It was important to get hold of them so I held for as long as I could but after all that time I didn't think they'd ever answer the phone so hung up. They simply aren't fit to run a loan company and should be shutdown.
Wonga used my credit card
Wonga used my credit card - completely unauthorized - so far they have taken 5 payments from it. Best of all, I DON'T have a loan with Wonga, I have NEVER had a loan with Wonga, and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Have tried many times to talk to them about this, each time am promised an email will be sent to "Head Office" for them to investigate, and get back to me within 48 hours. Needless to say they haven't - they just keep taking my money
All of these comments are off
All of these comments are off wonga themselves to make their website look useful and not a scam but my friend used Wonga. He borrowed £50 but he couldn't make the payment. Phoned them up was on hold for 30mins then got cut off and his bill kept getting bigger until he managed to pay at £215
Hi
Hi... after using them 8 times did you find each time you applied the limit of money you could borrow increase?
wonga cash loans
Used this company for the first time last week. Got money in my bank within 30 minutes as promised, took money back when I agreed as promised, no problems, would recommend to my friends . Keep to your word to pay back on time you should have no problems. I will defiantly use wonga again.
I used wonga to get me
I used wonga to get me through until payday. They were very flexible and I had the money within 15 minutes. I also saved £5.50 off the fees by using the promo code bsl822 :) I've used other payday loan companies before and had problems with them taking payments on the right days. Wonga was spot on. Promo Code: bsl822
Wonga
No problems at all with them. Took out a loan and was able to pay back 2 days early, thus saving myself money in the process. The only people who get in trouble are those who don't pay on time.
Because people don't pay them
Because people don't pay them back in time then get charged a lot, so they call it a scam. But it is their fault for not keeping up with the repayment.
I got that I just ignored
I got that I just ignored them and they went through a collection agency which is wonga themselves. I borrowed 600. Bank stopped my card that was meant to pay back 833. They took 190 then. Couldn't take anymore. Now, have given me a repayment plan of 48 over three months. I said yes!
You shouldn't say anything!
You shouldn't say anything! Be happy that you got away with it
I have been known to make a
I have been known to make a bad mistake once in a while, so I was very skeptical taking out this loan. But at the end of the day, the only people who are slagging off the site are probably the people with thousands sat in there banks, living the high life. I'm a student, and needed 100 quid, I got the money this morning paid my landlord and when my loan comes in, in a few days, I will repay early. I mean come on, some guy (loan shark or not) has just lent me 100 quid, no real questions asked and I'm supposed to be pissed off he's charged me 7 quid for it. I say fair play, as long as you are not a complete idiot, pay back when you say you will and don't borrow more then you can afford to pay, then its a good idea.
I also think it's a fair point someone commented on some people on here making ridiculous excuses, they were making ridiculous excuses, if you don't pay them when you can (unforeseen circumstances or not) prepare to be stung, you took that chance.
All I can say is I'm very happy with the service, won't use it loads cause it is silly APR at the end of the day, but it only looks so high cause it's designed to be a short term loan.
Excuse me while i light my..
Peace
@Mark Welbourne
Hi Mark
You clearly haven't read into this properly and are just jumping on the bandwagon of hype going around about interest rates. The sort of loans they offer are short-term loans which work in a different way to a traditional bank loan. It's meant to be a short term loan - just to bridge a gap until payday.
E.g. you borrow £100 for 5 days to make a payment off your credit card - it'll cost you £10.70 in fees and interest. If you don't make the payment to your credit card company on time, then it may cost you a £12 charge (possibly more!) PLUS a black mark on your credit report. I know which I'd rather!
Wonga do not seem to be a scam
Went through their website.. everything seems genuine and they seem like a legitimate payday loans company. Why does Google prompt 'Wonga Scam' while searching for Wonga?
I am confused
I am confused- I was supposed to pay back wonga £365 on the 17th, I had about £900 in my bank account and the money wasn't taken out. I have checked my bank account and they haven't taken it and I have checked my wonga account and according to that I don't owe anything and I can get another plus. I haven't received any texts or e-mails off them. I have used wonga at least 5 times and haven't had any problems before now and I don't know what to do other than e-mail them or phone but after reading some of these comments, I don't know if that is gonna help. I have to pay 200 pound for an xbox on 22nd but was gonna get a little loan off wonga to do that as I need my money in my bank for other direct debits. Someone help plz..
heres a new one...i think!!!
here's a new one...i think!!! borrowed £100 off wonga they were due to take £122 back and on the 16th day the funds were in my account and they sent me an email saying contact us as funds were not in my account...phoned them and they said they asked for the payment at 5 o clock that morning when i checked on me way to work at 6 the money was still in my account then they said sorry we asked for payment at 7 no they didn't...got a print out from the bank and they'd asked for the money first at midday for £64, then at 12.36 in the amount of £33 then again at 13.07 for the amount of £11.06 and charged me £7.50 for not full payment 3 times its a total scam..please don't borrow off these urchins praying on people on low income wages..
I got a £150 pay day loan
I got a £150 pay day loan from Wonga. Then as things happen I couldn't pay the loan back. The payment then jumped to £280 and as it was my fault. I e-mailed them 3 times asking if i could pay 4 X £70 payments to clear the debt. I received no reply and a few months have gone by in the past few weeks I am constantly received text messages through my work phone saying I owe £490.
I think thats a tad unfair.
I think that's a tad unfair. You have no idea what financial difficulties people can run into to make that kind of judgement.
People can get made redundant - are you saying that's their own fault?
Don't make sweeping statements about people when you know nothing about their circumstances.
Pay Day Loans. Legalised Loansharking??
Anybody using Pay Day loan companies are idiots. Internet companies such as 'Wonga.com' advertise heavily on the TV. The question to be asked - Who owns them, and are they properly registered with the FSA, or its replacement.
If a company is harassing people for payment, then this in itself is illegal. If you are not satisfied with them, report them to the local Council's Trading standards with as much evidence as possible.
Tell them that you will put the matter in the hands of the local Police Fraud office.
Frankly your as transparent
Frankly your as transparent as a pane of glass. You so obviously work for either Wonga or a similar merchant company and your just trying to justify the unscrupulous way you earn a living. Even the boneheads who are foolish enough to use Wonga can see through your pathetic comments.
Anyone who even so much as
Anyone who even so much as contemplates using this type of loan company frankly deserves what they get. It does what it says on the tin which is rip you off. The APR is clear enough on the Homepage at 2689% (TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE PERCENT)!!! Banks are currently been criticised for charging up to 20% and are threatened with legislation from the Government who consider 20% to be immoral and outrageous. Question - Can you seriously expect this kind of company to have a helpful approach and admit they may have made a mistake when you complain about being incorrectly billed or not sticking to an agreed payment date??? Furthermore I`ll wager that in the event that you can`t pay them back you will have some very forceful and unfriendly people knocking on your door. In summary there are only 2 words for this kind of company, "unscrupulous" and "extortionate" who prey on desperate people who don`t realise what they are getting into.
No problems
I've used them twice now. 1st time I had a bit of bad luck and could not pay back full amount on the agreed date. I phoned them got straight through and set up a payment plan with them, that plan was completed, and I have borrowed from them a second time (all be it a smaller amount) no problem. Everyone has hard times and falls short, Wonga have helped me out. But be sensible or you will dig yourself a very stressful hole.
Strange?
How can £500 become 2700 after two months? Do they add some sort of solicitor fee?
Since they refused your payment plan offer, what kind of offer did you make them - to delete some of your debt?
So they don't create anything in your credit record once you apply? Instead they check other payday lenders.
I phoned Wonga today because
I phoned Wonga today because I Know I will not be able to pay my loan due in a few days, I was told by this woman that I would be hit with a £8 a day interest fee until the loan is cleared and would not set up any payment plan with myself. Even their own T&C say that they continue to charge interest for 60 days until the debt is cleared in full and would not discuss any further and said the debt would run into £1000's of pounds. I am going to see if can get a loan off Mum and Dad and repay in full.
hello all. regarding wonga, i
hello all.
regarding wonga, i really need some help at the moment as THEY HAVE TOOK £77.29 (in two payments) OUT OF MY ACCOUNT TWICE.
i registered at the back end of may and have used them 4 times since - just for 2 x £20 loans and 2 x £40 loans.
one thing i noticed when they took the repayment out of my bank account for the first (£20) loan I took was that it didn't show up on my online bank statement straight away and took a few days to. i wasn't too concerned at first but now believe it's deliberate for more sinister reasons, i.e, to rip you off.
the first 3 times i loaned money (1 x £20 loan, 2 x £40 loan) they took the money out of my account on the agreed date and i received the confirmation text and email from them to say so and checked my account and the money had definitely left my account.
however, in the case of 1 x £20 loan (paying back £25.75) and 1 x £40 (paying back £51.54), on the day these repayments appeared on my statement (a week later for the £51.54 payment) THEY TOOK THIS MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AGAIN! even though i had already paid it on the agreed date. i knew exactly what was in my account and that amount (£77.29 total) was missing and only wonga could have took it.
i called them up as soon as i realised expecting them to say it was a mistake and that i'd be refunded and couldn't believe it when they said they had nothing at their side to say they had took the money out twice.
i contacted my bank and they said that wonga had took the money out but said they couldn't have took it out before because it didn't show up on my statement, BUT I KNOW THEY DID TAKE IT OUT! how can i prove this? how the hell can they just take the money out again in the first place?!
thing is, i was due to pay back the last loan i had with them (£45.50 total) just yesterday and part of the money i had in my account was to repay it, but as wonga has took that money out of my account again it meant i didn't have enough money in there to pay them and now owe them an extra £15, even though it was their mistake.
i'd never used anything like this before so this is all new to me. i really don't know what to do or how i can prove they took the money out of my account twice so would really appreciate any help and advice here.
thanks in advance.
Wonga live up to promise
Wonga.com - I applied for the full amount, got accepted, got the money in my bank account 10 mins later, they took the payment when they said they would, i got what i wanted. Does anyone really want any more from this kind of service? I think they're great!
no problem
For wonga to authorise payment, you have to have at least 1 pound in your bank. I have never had any problems with them. By far the best pay day advance company.
WONGA
Took a loan for £500, lost job, tried to call to inform them and to offer a payment plan, which was declined. Was then sent letters from a solicitors office that does not exist after I tried to find on Google.
Could never get through to Wonga-sent numerous emails offering to settle but monthly-no response.
Then received more mail stating within 2 months the £500 was now £2700.
I was harassed on Facebook, threatened with door step heavies and was made to feel like i was worthless.
People can loose their jobs, god dam it there's a recession! I understand that a debt is a debt-but how on earth the government has not stepped in to stop these kind of companies trading is beyond belief.
They trap people, who in turn end up taking another loan, then another.
The payday loans system is so bad now that some people have 4 payday loans running at the same time and when a payday loan company states it does not do a credit check-this is untrue they all link together to check how many payday loans you have!
If desperate, ask family or friends-don't get trapped like thousands of people during this current climate. It all ends in tears.
no problems here
I have used them and out of the payday/short terms loan people out there I have found them the best. When you apply you see how much you will be paying back and when, simple. Used them last year and was 1 of the 50 to receive the loan interest free, well worth it. It's simple maths using the bars to work out when and how much will be paid!!!
You will generally find most
You will generally find most of the bad reviews state things like 'through no fault of my own, all the money in the bank burst into flames and I couldn't make the payment - despite this the nasty man on the phone at wonga said that he didn't care that i have a crack addiction and that money shouldn't be regarded as 'free' by people like me - this company is a scam!'....if you are a competent human being with a grasp of reality and don't think 'everyone is out to make your life difficult' then give them a try - I have managed to get a small payday loan from them before now with no trouble. ok to be fair instead of taking the money out they paid it in twice but they soon realised their mistake...
WONGA .....NOT AS GOOD AS THEY SAY!!!
I borrowed some money from them over a period of time and always paid back on time. The last occasion I borrowed from them, there was a problem with my bank account (through no fault of mine) and they were unable to collect all of their money in one go. When I realised this, I made payment separately - one day later than my due payment date and bear in mind that they had already collected most of it. They then proceeded to take more money out of my account (at least £200) over what I owed them. I wrote to them on various occasions asking for my money back. They refused to respond. I asked for a manager's name and they refused to respond. To date, despite many messages asking them to look into what happened to me, they will not respond, yet, I get messages telling me how great a company they are. THEY ARE NOT. Do not be fooled by these bunch of vultures. They can make mistakes, but woe betide you do.
clueless?
Sounds like a case of pot calling kettle black if your management of your own finances have led you to borrowing small amounts of money from internet loan sharks.
Clueless Business
WONGA are totally incompetent and not fit for purpose. Decline you for pathetic reasons, tell you to re-apply then decline you because of an existing application! They never return e-mails and you can never get hold of anyone by phone. There are some excellent firms out there who don't fob you off with a load of old "wonga".
wonga
made application last friday, they requested bank statements which i sent,on wednesday it was finally approved But they were charging from the friday and not wednesday (they charge by number of days) when i queried this they never replied and when i sign into my account the loan has expired and i had to redo and they again requested bank statements joke of a company imho
Wonga are not scam
They seem to be a genuine company with some good reviews on the Internet. They have been referenced by many top newspapers of UK as well.
But how can this company be
But how can this company be scam if they are even advertising on television?
That’s the reason I applied today with them. I thought they should definitely be safe because they are on TV advert.

i use wonga and would recomend it to people who need a quick cash advance im 18yo and couldnt get a payday loan any where but i heard of wonga from a freind and it was perfect i couldnt get more that £300 tho but thats not the point i got a £200 loan and it was in my bank in 15 mins iv never had a problem repaying my loans but for thos who cant pay their loan on time and need to extend there loan just select extend my loan when you log in. just so you know i know i cant spell .
anywho i would realy reccomend wonga to anyone who needs fast cash aprox 15 mins and come on your not going to find that anywhere else are you.
i have never had a problem
i have never had a problem with wonga ive used them about 8 times without trouble and if you think you cant pay on time then you should not be getting a loan out in the first place i would recomend them all the time. they did decline me once but rung up and was sorted instantly
I just want to say, i have
I just want to say, i have used these when i have been absoloutly desperate for some cash to get me by for a few days (i.e for food and electric), when ive had no other option and had no probs at all.
To all you who posted above, who obviously have been using it as a constant source of readyily available money, i suggest you need to look at how you manage your money better, so you are not constantly in need to borrow off them.
Why do some of you say you couldnt pay the loan back because they wouldnt answer phone/emails? You just log into your account and pay if via your account page, theres no need to actually contact any of them at all to pay your loan back.
If you only use this service every now and again, when you are left with no other alternative and your need for the money is absoloutly essential AND YOU KNOW YOU CAN PAY BACK WHAT YOU OWE ON THE DATE YOU AGREE TO, then i fully recommend them.
Wonga OK
After reading all these not-so-great comments, I thought I'd just chip in to say that I've not had any problems with Wonga. I use them occassionally, I pay on time and I've never had any issues.
Payday loans scam
Wonga.com are, like all other payday loan lenders legalised loan sharks. To the people above who got declined – good – they did you a favour. Companies like this trap desperate vulnerable people into a never-ending cycle of high interest borrowing. I have just got myself out of the payday loan trap but it took help from a very good friend and nearly 2 years. It cost hundreds and hundreds of pounds in interest. Seriously stay away from them! I made a website warning people of the dangers with advice on setting up a repayment plan and alternatives to payday loans http://paydayloantrap.synthasite.com/
here,here... 2 weeks before
here,here... 2 weeks before my payment was due my debt card was stolen. i cancelled the card and tried to inform wonga about this...sent letters emails but no response....after the due date i got a letter from wonga, demanding payment and i also had a 100pound charge added..wrote back several times and no answer all i keep getting are these pc automated letters.. i see their plan..ignore me but keep upin' the debt. not a chance i have all comms recorded and their gettint the agreed payment and thats all, if they want anymore take me to court! the case wouldnt even last 2minutes.
Wonga
Same problem as many others starting using them found them great and reliable when i needed them then the month i needed them most kept getting declined!Had lots of different excuses why but did learn off one of there live chat guys the laws have changed and you cant have more than so many loan in a year from them but wouldnt state how many
I took out a loan with them
I took out a loan with them and could not pay it back on time - my fault fair enough however I tried numerous times to call them, I emailed them and I wrote to them recorded delivery - they never responded at all to my proposals of repayment. Then I received letters from a Solicitor who does not even exist!!! I checked and there was no such company and the phone number on the letter just takes you through to Wonga!!! I wrote again telling them I was onto their scam and again months went by with no reply... I have since received another letter from a different company who again don't answer their calls or respond to any letters I send. I am still trying to repay my loan to Wonga and for some reason they don't seem interested in actually answering me and just keep sending stupid letters threatening to take me to Court - perhaps if they ever answered me they'sd have had their money back by now!
me also
I had this exact problem they keep taking £10 out of my account like 1-2 times a day until i phoned them and they knocked like 200 off the interest but im still paying more than what i said because they took the money out without asking
Avoid!!
I stupidly took out a loan with these people who, on the date my loan was due to be repaid, took more from my bank account than was agreed causing me to go overdrawn (I have since sought legal advice and this is fraud, I currently have a compaint regarding them with the financial ombudsman). This company prey on people desperate for cash and then plunge them into further debt. Please don't make the mistake I did and avoid them like the plague.
Same here
I had the exact same problem with this company. Their excuse to me was that "my debit card didnt match my bank details". I would love to know how this is possible given the fact I used the same bank and card details with every loan I took out with them previously.
50/50
This company were really good when I first used them. Applied online money was in my account within the hour. Had a couple of loans with them, all paid back on time no problem, not one missed payment. They even said in one of their emails I was now a highly valued customer as I had proven I could make my repayments etc etc. Then (as someone else said also), I applied one day again and they just declined me?
I contacted them to ask them why as I had built up a good account with them and was told that "my debit card details didn't match the bank details they had on their system for me". I asked what on earth they were on about because my bank account hadn't changed and neither had my card and I'd had all my other loans accepted. Any attempt I made to use the site since results in just refreshing to the home page whenever i apply.
Highly highly frustrating, especially when I held such a good account with them. Dont understand why they would be willing to lose good custom??!
Good start...poor finish...
